Fran has worked in radio and TV for 20 years. Hard to imagine as she is only 29 *coughs*. She trained as a journalist and cut her presenting teeth on BBC Radio Derby. Moving to BBC Radio Nottingham in 2003, she later won a Sony Radio Academy Gold for her daily morning show, and was crowned best Speech Broadcaster. She went on to present dozens of breakfast shows on BBC 5 Live, and is now a called on to host faith based shows on Radio 2 like Good Morning Sunday (with an audience of 2 million!)
You can hear Fran present the Daily Service on Radio 4, and the occasional Sunday Worship.
She is the host of Saturday mornings (9-12) and Sunday Breakfast (6-9) on BBC Radio Nottingham.
After presenting BBC East Midlands Today bulletins in the noughties, Fran returned to TV when she helped launch a brand new station - Notts TV. She produced and presented hundreds of hours of live TV news and chat shows, and you can watch her present the Notts TV Debate.
She is also a news film maker, and has made several features for BBC One's Inside Out.
Fran is a confident and sparky host of live events. She brings humour to awards ceremonies (eg Nottingham Post Women In Business Awards), prize givings (held at Nottingham's Albert Hall) and fund raisers (BBC Local Radio) and is comfortable in front of big audiences. She loved being on stage the Splendour Festival, interviewing boxer Carl Froch in front of a crowd of 20,000.
Fran is hired as a coach and mentor to less experienced radio presenters. She believes she can improve ANYONE's communication skills and gives presentation coaching to aspiring actors, to the business world (improving pitches and presentations), and to students. She has worked for clients such as BBC Radio, Nottingham Trent University and The Actors Workshop.
